KVS 2024 first merit list is expected to release by April 2024. KV class 1 admission list will be drawn on the basis of information furnished in the application form of the candidates. Three different sets of the provisional merit list will be released by the authorities that can be checked by the parents online. In case there remains any seat vacant after the admission through first merit list, second and third merit lists will be released. Students who are not selected in the first merit list need to wait for their names in the further merit lists. Parents of the shortlisted students whose names appear in the merit list will then be intimated about the admission process. Check out important info regarding KVS Class 1 merit list 2024 below.
Process to check KVS merit list 2024 for class 1
Parents can check the merit list for KVS class 1 admission by visiting the official website of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Follow the steps given below to see the KVS Class 1 merit list:
- Go to the official website of KVS www.kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in.
- Click on the ‘Check Application Status’ link available on the top-right corner of the page.
- Enter the following details into the given boxes correctly- login code, date of birth of child, mobile number and the captcha code.
- Click on the Login button to login to the student’s dashboard.
- After successful login, the status of admission of the students can be seen on the screen.
Note: The merit list will also be released on the official website of Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Preparation of KVS Class 1 Merit List
- The merit list for admission into class 1 in different KVs will be prepared by the authorities as per the details provided in the application form.
- Only names of the students who meet the age criteria for admission to class 1 will be included in the merit list.
- Priorities will be given to the students while making the merit list as per the rules of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
- Rules of reservation and special provisions will also be taken into account while preparing the merit list.
- The merit list prepared like this will then be released on the official website of the KVS.
KV Class 1 Admission Process
- Every Kendriya Vidyalaya will constitute a committee for the purpose of monitoring a system of Draw of Lots to be held in Class I.
- Draw of lots will be done online and can be checked by the parents by visiting the official website of respective Kendriya Vidyalayas.
- After the draw of lots is done, the names of the shortlisted students will be published on the official website of KVS and individual schools.
- Students with names in the list will be considered for the admission process.
- Scanned photograph of the shortlisted child, birth certificate and other scanned documents should be kept ready by the parents for online admission.
Admissions to class 1 will be done through online mode and for other classes it will be offline. Every Kendriya Vidyalaya will constitute a committee which includes five members:
- Principal: Convener
- Teacher: Member (To be nominated by Principal)
- & 4. Two parents (One lady): Members (One parent has to be from the candidates to be considered under section 12(1)(c) of RTE Act 2009)
5. VMC member: Member(To be nominated by Chairman, VMC)
The committee will monitor the a system of Draw of Lots to be held in Class I or in any other class (for offline mode only) wherever such stage is reached when all candidates of a particular category or having same number of transfers cannot be accommodated against available number of seats.
Admission to Class 2 to 8
There will not be any entrance test conducted for providing admission to class 2 to 8 and admissions would be offered based on Priority Category System (1 to 5 or 6 as the case may be). If applications are more than the number of seats, lottery system
will be followed in each category including single girl child quota (Class VI Onwards).
Admission to Class 9
An admission test shall be conducts in subjects including Hindi, English, Maths, Social Science and Science. The exam will be conducted over a duration of 3 hours and there will be a single paper of 100 marks. In order to qualify, candidates have to score at least 35% marks in aggregate. Those who belong to SC/ST/Divyang category (PH) they need to score at leasr 25% marks in aggregate to qualify. A merit list will be prepared for each category of priority separately.
Admission to Class 11
For KV Students
Admission to KV students in Science, Commerce, Humanities streams will be based on aggregate marks scored in class 10:
- Science Stream: A minimum of 60% Marks in aggregate of all subjects.
- Humanities Stream: All students of KV if declared successful in class X exam
- Commerce: A minimum of 55% Marks in aggregate of all subjects.
If the seats remain vacant after admitting the children of KV/ neighboring KVs then the admissions to non – KV children may be granted based on same criteria.
