National Awards to Teachers 2023 is based on the theme to rejoice the exclusive contribution of some of the best teachers in the country whose commitment towards the education has not only enhanced the overall quality of school education but also improved the lives of their students. The first award was instituted in the year 1958.

National Awards to Teachers 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- Find below the category of teachers eligible for the upcoming National Awards to Teachers 2023. Heads of schools and School teachers who are placed in recognized primary / middle / high / higher secondary schools under the below mentioned categories are eligible:
- Schools run by State Govt./UTs Administration, schools run by local bodies, schools aided by State Govt. and UT Administration.
- Central Govt. Schools such as Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Sainik Schools run by Ministry of Defence (MoD), Schools run by Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES) and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) run by Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
- Schools having affiliation with CBSE other than mentioned in Para 1 & 2.
- Schools having affiliation with ICSE other than mentioned in Para 1, 2 & 3.
- Only regular Teachers and Heads of Schools are permitted to apply.
Who are not eligible?
Contractual Teachers and Shiksha Mitras
Educational Administrators, Inspectors of Education, and the staff of training Institutes
Normally retired teachers are not eligible for the award but those teachers who have served a part of the calendar year (at least for four months i.e. upto 30th April in the year to which National Awards relate) may be considered if they fulfill all other conditions.
How to Apply for National Awards to Teachers 2023?

Based on the school where the teacher is placed he/she has to choose one of the following categories from the dropdown:
- Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti
- Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan
- and Aided Schools Under State/UTs

Check all information furnished are correct and Click on Send Activation Link on email button.
Once an email sent to your registered email id then the following screen will appear.
Now login using your email ID mentioned in the registration process.
Complete the verification using the link sent to your email id and an OTP sent to your mobile number.
After a successfully verification, you’ll be able to create a new password for Login into NAT Portal.
After creating a password your registration process is considered successful. Now, you can login to your account through your Login Id (Registered Mobile Number) and Password.
Now fill up the form with required details.

Fill up the personal details including Gender, Alternate Mobile Number, Date of Birth, House Number, State, Locality, District, Pin code, Block, Photo, Other Information, Press ‘Save Personal Details’ & ‘Save Other Information’ to Save the Personal Details in Draft mode.
You need to provide the necessary School Details. Click Save to save details in Draft mode.
Then you need to provide Service Record Entry Form.
Now proceed with filling Objective Criteria Details Entry Form.
You need to enter corresponding details in Objective Criteria such as Number of Publications, remarks, etc. URL / link of the video (if any) shall be entered, Document (if any) may be uploaded.
Provide details in each criteria and hit the save button.
Enter Criteria Based on Performance and upload supporting documents.
Take preview of your application and if everything is correct and in order then submit the same.
National Awards to Teachers 2023 Selection Process
The evaluation of teachers will be based on two major criteria as shared below- Objective criteria and Criteria based on performance.
Category A: Objective Criteria
