Rashtriya Military School Belgaum 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates meeting the following eligibility criteria can apply.

Gender

• Admissions are provided to boys candidates only.

Age Limit

• 6th class admission: The age of a boy should be 10 to 12 years as on 31st March 2023.
• 9th class admission: Candidates of the age 13 to 15 years as on 31st March 2023 can apply.

Note: A relaxation of 6 months in the upper age limit will be given to the son of Officer, JCOs/ ORs killed in action.

Educational Qualification

• 6th class admission: Applicants must have passed the class 5th exam from a recognized school.
• 9th class admission: The aspirant needs to clear the 8th class exam from a recognized school.

Medical Fitness

• The boy should be medically fit for admission. RMS will organize a medical fitness test for the same.

Candidates who are looking to apply for the exam may go through the details of the application process as given below.

• The application forms are going to be released in offline mode only.
• Interested candidates may collect the application form from the Rashtriya Military School Belgaum by paying Rs. 600/- in cash (Rs. 300/- for SC/ ST category)
• Additionally, the application form can also be obtained by post. The candidates need to send a self-addressed slip and a demand draft of Rs. 650 /- (Rs. 350/- for SC/ST candidates) for getting the application form by post.
• Please note that the demand draft must be drawn in favour of the Principal, Rashtriya Military School Belgaum.
• After getting the form, the aspirants have to enter their academic and personal detail in neat and clean handwriting.

Syllabus

For 6th Class Admission: The questions will be asked from English, Intelligence Test, Mathematics, General Knowledge & Current Affair subjects. The standard of the questions will be of class 5th level.

For 9th Class Admission: The questions in the entrance exam of 9th class will be asked from English, Hindi, Social Science, Mathematics and science subjects. The level of the questions will be of class 8th.

Rashtriya Military School Interview 2023

• Candidates declared successful after the written test will be called for an interview.
• The class 6th entrance interview consists of 20 marks. On the other hand, interview for the class 9th admission will carry 50 marks.
• The marks secured in the interview will be added to the written exam marks for the final merit list.
• The authorities will judge candidates on various parameters during the interview.

Reservation Policy

The following reservation policy is applicable while creating a merit list for admission.

• 70% of the total seats are reserved for the wards of serving and retired JCOs/ORs in the Army, Navy and Air Force.
• 30% of seats are also reserved for the wards of officers and civilians.
• 15% and 7.5% horizontal reservation is also given to the SC/ ST candidates respectively.

RMS Belgaum 2023 Scholarship Program

RMS Belgaum offers scholarships for non-entitled candidates. To avail this scholarship, the candidates have to clear a scholarship test organized by the Army headquarters. The rules of this scholarship program are as follows.

• Full remission of the school fees is provided to the boys whose parent’s annual income is less than 1 lakh.
• 50% school of fees remission is given to the candidates whose parent’s annual income is more than 1 lakh and less than 1.5 lakh.
