Let’s take a look about the brief of upcoming exams to be conducted by UPSC in 2024 according to UPSC calendar 2024
|CDS||UPSC conducts CDS exam twice a year- CDS I and CDS II. This exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the Defence field. The exam comprises of multiple choice questions only. Candidates are selected based on their performance in CDS exam followed by SSB interview.|
|NDA & NA||Through NDA & NA exam, UPSC recruits eligible candidates in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. One can apply for NDA exam after class 12. All questions in the exam are objective type questions with negative marking. The final selection is made based on candidates’ performance in the written exam and SSB interview. This exam is also conducted twice a year.|
|Engineering Services Examination||If you have a valid engineering degree and you are aged in between 21 to 30 years then yes you are eligible to take Engineering Service Examination conducted by UPSC. Students are selected based on their performance in prelims, mains and final personality test. There are two papers of 500 marks and all questions are objective in nature.|
|Combined Geo-Scientist Examination||UPSC conducts Combined Geo-Scientist Examination for the recruitment of Geophysicist, Geologist, Chemist and Junior Hydrogeologist posts. This exam is conducted only once a year. Only candidates with Master’s degree are eligible to take this exam. The exam is conducted in online mode and it comprises of objective type questions only. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd in the exam.|
|CISF AC(EXE) LDCE||UPSC conducts CISF AC(EXE) LDCE exam for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant (Executive). This exam is also conducted annually and one can apply in online as well as offline mode. Students are selected based on their performance in written examination, Physical and Medical Standard Tests, and Personality/Interview Test. Each candidate gets only three attempts to take this exam.|
|Civil Services Examination||Civil services exam is conducted by UPSC for selecting various posts under Indian Foreign Service, Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service and other Group A posts. Candidates who are aged between 21 and 32 years with required qualification can apply online. The selection is based on performance of candidates in Prelims, Mains and Interview.|
|Indian Forest Service Examination||Please note that to appear in IFS mains exam one has to clear Civil Services prelims exam. This exam is conducted for recruitment of candidates under various forest service posts of the Indian government. IFS exam is conducted in offline mode where all questions are multiple-choice questions. There will be negative marking in the exam.|
|IES/ISS Examination||Candidates having a valid Graduation and Post-graduation degree are eligible to apply for IES/ISS examination. This exam is conducted only once a year in offline mode. One can apply for UPSC IES/ISS examination in online mode. Selection of candidates is based on their performance in written exam and personal interview.|
|Combined Medical Services Examination||UPSC conducts CMS exam for recruiting medical graduates in Indian Railways, Indian Ordnance Factories under the Government of India. Students are selected on the basis of their performance in written exam and a personality test. The upper age limit for taking Combined Medical Services Examination is 32 years.|
|Central Armed Police Forces (ACs) Examination||UPSC CAPF exam is conducted for the recruitment of Assistant Commandment (AC) post in Central Armed Police (CAPF). The application process is likely to start from April 2024. Candidates who are aged in between 20-25 years with a valid Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for CAPF AC examination. The exam is conducted in offline mode and it comprises of both objective as well as descriptive type questions.|
|S.O./Steno (GD-B/GD-I) LDCE Exam||UPSC SO/Steno exam is conducted for the recruitment of Section Officer (SO) and Stenographers Grade B/Grade 1. The official notification for UPSC S.O./Steno (GD-B/GD-I) LDCE exam 2024 is likely to release in September 2024. There are three papers out of which paper I and paper II comprises of objective type questions and paper III comprises of subjective questions only.|
