Brad Pitt was born on 18 December 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to William Alvin Pitt and Jane Etta. His father was a proprietor of a trucking company while his mother was a school counselor. Pitt has two younger siblings, Douglas Mitchell and Julie Neal and he is very distantly related to the former president, Barack Obama. The two have a common ancestor from the 18th century named Edwin Hickman.

Pitt met actress Jennifer Aniston in 1998, proposed to her in 1999 and got married in 2000. In 2005, the couple filed for divorce after which Pitt started dating actress Angelina Jolie.
