Aaronson joined the Philadelphia Union at the beginning of 2019 season as a back-up playmaker. However, injuries and suspensions of his team member gave Aaronson the opportunity to start in the first team. Aaronson then join Red Bull Salzburg effective January 2021 after the MLS (major League Soccer) season ended.
