About Founders of Unacademy

Unacademy was established by three founders- Gaurav Munjal, Hemesh Singh, and Roman Saini. Before it became a full-fledged education platform, Unacademy started as a YouTube channel.

Munjal who was a student of engineering, uploaded a YouTube video on how to make computer graphics in 2010. He later started sharing these videos with his friends who found them helpful with their studies and named the channel Unacademy.

Gaurav kept making YouTube tutorials even after he graduated and started working. He was further joined by his friend Roman Saini who began uploading videos to crack the UPSC exam. Saini himself was an MBBS degree holder & had cleared the UPSC exam at a very young age.

Saini was a child prodigy who cleared the entrance exam for MBBS at only the age of 16 years. Not only this, after cracking UPSC at 22 years of age, he became one of the youngest IAS officers in India. To join Unacademy, Saini left his civil service job in Madhya Pradesh.

Saini and Munjal were later joined by Hemesh Singh and together the three of them launched Unacademy as a complete online education platform. Like Gaurav, Hemesh was also an engineer who worked at a software company before joining Unacademy. Check Google Net Worth
