What are Indian Army Grade Pay and Basic Pay?

Indian Army Grade Pay – In simple words, we can say that Grade pay is the amount that Indian Army employees receive according to the category, pay band, and a class of employee. The grade pay is calculated according to the post of an employee as per the 7th pay commission.

Please note that the Grade pay remains fixed until the employee gets the next promotion. Grade pay is the new term that is introduced in the 6th pay commission.

Apart from the basic pay and grade pay, the personnel in the Indian army also get many other allowances. Please note that all these allowances are not given to every soldier of the army. Different allowances are applicable for various posts and the location of posts. For example – the Siachen allowance is given only to the soldiers working in the Siachen glaciers. Salary during NDA Training Period

The remuneration gets started once a cadet is selected for training in Indian Military Academy (IMA), Air Force Academy, or Naval Academy. Remember, the cadet in IMA is entitled to get the salary of a Lieutenant (Flying officer for Air Force Academy). The rest of the amount is credited to him as an outstanding payment.
