History of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was born in a very poor Bengali Brahmin family on 18th February 1836. His family was quite religious and all their sons were given first names that contained the word Rama. At a very young age, he got well-versed with the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, and the Bhagavata Purana just by hearing them from wandering monks. After the death of his father, he got even more attached to his mother and started to spend more time praying deities.

After spending years in prayers and meditation, Ramakrishna emerged as a spiritual and religious teacher. Many well-known monks and personalities were inspired by his thoughts and started following him as guru.
