In the IPL auction set to be held on 23rd December, a total of 10 teams will engage in a battle to secure the top batsmen, bowlers and all-rounder to their team. However, they must take care of their budget before selecting the players for their team. A total of 405 players will be a part of the auction whose future will be decided for the coming IPL season. Out of 405, 273 players are Indians while 132 are from outside. So to conclude, there will be a total of 10 teams, 403 players, 206 crores budget, 87 vacant slots with 30 reserved slots for overseas players.
IPL Auction 2023: How to watch?
Kochi will be the host for IPL auction for the first time. The auction will take place at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi, Kerala. The auction will begin at 2:30 pm (IST) and Star Sports Network will cover the whole live broadcast of the occasion. IPL 2023 Mini-auction
With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction, teams and players will make their first move for this big tournament. Teams such as Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and players like Ben Stokes, Adil Rashid, Chris Jordan, etc will be participating in the event. A total of 991 players have registered for the auction out of which 405 were able to make it to the final list. Out of the 405 players up for auction, 119 are capped players whereas 286 are uncapped. In this mini-auction, teams are allowed to retain as many players as they wish and different teams will be approaching the table with different purses and needs. The purse slot is also different for different teams, e.g. Sunrisers Hyderabad will have the largest purse of Rs. 42.25 crore (17 slots) while Kolkata Knight Riders have the smallest purse of Rs. 7.05 crore (14 slots).
