International Commerce Olympiad 2023: Exam Date (out), Application Form, Syllabus, Eligibility

The Science Olympiad Foundation will release the official notification for International Commerce Olympiad (ICO). This exam is conducted to help the students analyze and develop their potentials in the field of commerce. This exam is conducted for class 11th and 12th students only.

Those who will be successful in this test will get awards, certificates, and medals. Interested and eligible looking to apply need to submit the registration form through the school. In this post, we are going to provide all the necessary details related to the SOF ICO 2023.

Update: SOF ICO 2023 will be conducted on 12th December 2023 and 18th January 2024.

SOF International Commerce Olympiad (ICO) 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Before apply for the SOF International Commerce Olympiad (ICO), the students should make sure that they meet the following eligibility criteria.

• The SOF ICO is open to the students of classes 11 & 12. Students should register through their respective schools only. Individual registrations by students are not accepted.
• The school should have at least 5 interested students to take part in SOF ICO.
• There is no such requirements of minimum marks and additional qualifications.

SOF International Commerce Olympiad (ICO) Application Form 2023

The application form for the SOF International Commerce Olympiad (ICO) 2023 will be accepted through the school. The authorities will not accept applications from students individually. Complete details related to the application process are as follows-

• Those students who want to appear for this Olympiad need to collect the registration form from the school.
• In order to get their students registered the school needs to contact the science Olympiad foundation (SOF) by sending an email to info@sofworld.org or by dialing 0124-4951200.
• After receiving the request, SOF will send the prospectus and registration forms to the schools.
• Those schools that want the prospectors without getting registered may also contact SOF for the same.
• After getting the registration form, students have to enter their complete educational and personal details.
• The duly filled registration forms along with student registration sheets (SRS) should be sent to the SOF office before the last date.
• There is no provision by which the student can apply for this Olympiad without school.

Application Fee

The application fee need to be paid along with the registration form is as follows-

• Students from the school in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan & Nepal need to pay Rs. 125/- per student per Olympiad.
• Students’ suffering from any major physical disability need not pay any application fee.
• No application fee is applicable for the Indian student whose parent was martyred during defence operations.
• The application fee for the students of all other countries is US $ 9.

NOTE- Schools may charge an additional Rs 25 per student towards honorarium of incharge, remuneration to teachers to teach and guide, and for other expenses.

SOF ICO 2023 Admit Card

• Those students who will apply for this Olympiad may collect their roll numbers or admit cards from the school.
• SOF will generate the admit card for the students as per the data received in the SRS
• It’s a responsibility of the school to submit the registration forms and SRS before the due date otherwise the roll numbers will not be generated for the students.
• In addition to this, the admit cards will also be made available on the official website of SOF.
• It is compulsory for all candidates to have a valid roll number in order to appear for the examination.

Exam Pattern

SOF ICO 2023 will be a one-level examination. Students looking to appear for this test should check the exam pattern mention below-

• Only objective type multiple choice questions will be asked in the examination.
• Both 11^th and 12^th class students need to answer 50 questions in the examination.
• The duration of the examination will be 60 minutes.
• There will be separate question papers for class 11^th and class 12^th
• The question will be asked in the English language only.
• The exam will be conducted in school hours only.

SOF ICO Syllabus 2023

The syllabus applicable for the SFO ICO 2023 is given below.

For Class 11^th

• Section – 1: Introductory Microeconomics, Statistics for Economics.
• Section – 2: Nature and Purpose of Business, Forms of Business Organisations, Public, Private and Global Enterprises, Business Services, Emerging Modes of Business, Social Responsibility of Business and Business Ethics, Sources of Business Finance, Small Business, Internal Trade, International Business.
• Section – 3: Theoretical Framework, Accounting Process, Financial Statements of Sole Proprietorship from Complete and Incomplete Records, Computers in Accounting.
• Section – 4: Higher Order Thinking Questions – Syllabus as per Section-1, Section-2 and Section-3.

For Class 12^th

• Section – 1: Introductory Macroeconomics, Indian Economic Development.
• Section – 2: Nature and Significance of Management, Principles of Management, Business Environment, Planning, Organising, Staffing, Directing, Controlling, Financial Management, Financial Markets, Marketing Management, Consumer Protection.
• Section – 3: Financial Statements of Not-for-Profit Organisations, Accounting for Partnership Firms, Accounting for Companies, Analysis of Financial Statements, Cash Flow Statement, Computerised Accounting.
• Section – 4: Higher Order Thinking Questions – Syllabus as per Section-1, Section-2 and Section-3.

Result

• The result of SOF ICO 2023 will be made available within 8 weeks of the examination.
• Those students who will take the examination will be able to check the result through the school.
• Apart from this, the result will also be published on the official website of the SOF.
• All the participating students will be ranked based on their performance in the Olympiad.
• Every student will also get the Student Performance Report (SPR). This report can be used to analyze the weak and strong points of the candidates.
